1819 House

Built in 1819, this exquisite home has an intriguing history.  The alleged and known uses have included a brothel, gaming activities, hops farmhouse, underground railroad, doctor’s office, and restaurant.  A mural in the main foyer depicts the history.

The main level of the 1819 House includes six bedrooms that are furnished and decorated with taste and distinction.  Each bedroom is equivalent to a high-end hotel room and has a private entry from one of the covered porches. Three bedrooms each have a queen bed and three bedrooms each have two queen beds.  One of the bedrooms is handicap accessible.

From 1994 until 2004, the 1819 House was a popular eatery in the Cooperstown area.  It was completely renovated in 2004.  The owner will provide catered private team parties or receptions, for a separate fee.  At your catered private function, you may use the dining space and/or the patio. There is plenty of room for games in the large yard.  Ask about this delightful convenient option when you call to book the 1819 House.
